BCS is a locally-owned telephone interconnect and networking company headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, with technicians based in the Omaha and Lincoln markets. We service communities within a 200-mile radius of these locations.

Business Communication Systems (BCS) is a locally-owned company celebrating our 33rd year in business. Through strategic alliances we have provided telephone repair and service to numerous Fortune 500 companies and national chains, as well as small to medium size businesses within the region. Installations and upgrades have ranged from the small office and big box retail, to multi-story telemarketing centers.

A Brief History of Business Communication Systems

1987 – BCS originally started business as The Phone Company founded by Gary Thompson, a longtime resident of Lincoln, Nebraska. Originally The Phone Company was a provider of pay station equipment and pay station vending services.

1989 – The Phone Company changed its name to PhoneComm and expanded into the telephone inter-connect business providing business telephone equipment sales, service, and repair. We increased our service department, expanding our service to include Panasonic, Comdial, Avaya, Toshiba, Nortel, Mitel, Vodavi, and TIE telephone equipment.

1991 – PhoneComm becomes a Comdial dealer.

1995 – PhoneComm changes its name to Business Phone Systems and closes its pay station vending division. Business Phone Systems started a long-term relationship with Panasonic as a dealer.

1998 – Business Phone Systems moves its offices to the Historic District of Havelock, located in northeast Lincoln, Nebraska.

1999 – Business Phone Systems becomes a Vodavi dealer.

2000 – Business Phone Systems acquires Midlands Telephone Company from owner Mel Gray at his election to retire. This acquisition doubles the size of the company.

2004 – Business Phone Systems expands into the computer repair, network cabling, and network support business and changes its name to Business Communication Systems to more accurately reflect the services our company provides.

2008 – BCS expands into video security services featuring Panasonic video and camera surveillance products.

2010 – BCS expands into IP telephony.

2011 – BCS becomes a Samsung dealer.

2012 – BCS celebrates 25 years of representing a quality line of communications products and providing professional, reliable, and guaranteed service to its customers.

2017 – Celebrates 30 years of providing excellent communication services.

BCS offers VoIP services for $19.95 per month.
